Final Project
The final project asks you to use statistical learning to investigate a meaningful data question and communicate what you learn.
The final project makes up 25% of the course grade. You may work individually or in a team of at most three students. Milestones, deadlines, and detailed evaluation criteria are TBA.
Main Requirements
You will:
- select a dataset and define a meaningful question;
- connect the question, data, statistical reasoning, computation, and interpretation;
- document any AI assistance used;
- check the analysis carefully and explain important limitations; and
- present the project during Weeks 15 and 16.
You must have an AI coding agent available, but using it for the project is optional. An agent can make parts of the data analysis, coding, checking, and report workflow easier. One possible design is to create and test a reusable skill that guides an AI agent through the analysis and report. This is an example, not the only acceptable format.
Submission Files
Use project/final-report.pdf or a self-contained project/final-report.html; the report must not exceed 20 pages. An appendix may be project/appendix.pdf or a self-contained project/appendix.html.
